Almaty. FORBES KAZAKHSTAN - The industrial zone of Almaty has made an important step towards sustainable development. Since December 4, 2023, the company has become a full participant in the UN Global Compact and has received the right to be the first industrial zone in Kazakhstan to join a large-scale initiative.
The Industrial Zone of Almaty has committed itself to respect the principles and values of sustainable development in the field of human rights, environmental protection, labor relations and the fight against corruption, expressing commitment to the overall coordinated Development Strategy of SEC Almaty, which in October this year also joined the UN Global Compact.
"Almaty Industrial Zone LLP supports the ten principles of the UN Global Compact on Human Rights, labor, the environment and the fight against corruption. We express our intention to support a Global Agreement promoting these principles," said Alisher Satybaldiyev, Director of Almaty Industrial Zone LLP.
Based on the long-term experience, authority and capabilities of the United Nations, the Global Compact will allow the Company to make its activities public and transparent, while gaining a number of practical advantages, namely access to conceptual developments, exchange of innovative methods, use of support from UN structures in the implementation of projects on environmental protection, social development and public administration.
As part of its commitments, the Industrial Zone of Almaty will also provide annual reports on the results of its work in the field of compliance with the principles of the UN Global Compact.
The UN Global Compact is the world's largest voluntary initiative in the field of corporate social responsibility and sustainable development. It unites more than 23 thousand participants from 167 countries of the world.
