Last week, scientists and representatives of government agencies met at the Bekturov Research Institute of Chemical Sciences to decide how to clean the waste water of the Sorbulak accumulator and provide agricultural enterprises with irrigation water.
The event was attended by representatives of the Almaty City Entrepreneurship Department, SEC "Almaty", SEC "Zhetysu", "Almaty Su", the Department of Agriculture of the Ili district of Almaty region, as well as LLP "Membrane Technologies".
The parties discussed the possibility of providing agricultural enterprises of the Almaty region with irrigation water as a result of wastewater treatment of the Sorbulak accumulator. According to the scientists of the Institute, the installations using their technology are able to clean the drains to any necessary parameters for growing vegetable crops, breeding fish in the required volumes and on a long-term basis.
The project will strengthen the food belt of Almaty, grow socially significant agricultural products in the Almaty region and further supply to the largest megalopolis and settlements of the region.
