The President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Akim of Almaty, Yerbolat Dossayev.
The Head of State heard a report on the socio-economic situation in Almaty for January-May of this year. The Akim of the city reported on the execution of the President's instructions to ensure sustainable economic growth. During the reporting period, the short-term economic indicator increased to 107.6%, the volume of investments in fixed assets increased by 20.9%, trade recovered, the number of operating SMEs increased by 19.5%.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was presented with “The main priorities of the Almaty Development Plan until 2025 and medium-term prospects until 2030”.
The Head of State was informed about the adoption of new building regulations prohibiting the construction of buildings above 9 floors south of Abai Avenue, in mountainous and foothill areas, as well as plans to upgrade engineering infrastructure.
Yerbolat Dossayev said that funds have been allocated to solve acute socially significant problems, including the purchase of housing for working youth within the framework of the Almaty Zhastary program, improving the quality of nutrition in medical and social institutions, providing free medicines for rare diseases, financing sports sections and creative circles for children.
Following the meeting, the President gave a number of instructions on the further development of Almaty and improving the standard of living of its residents.
