As part of the implementation of mechanisms to stabilise prices for food staples in Almaty and prevent price growth, SEC Almaty JSC has concluded a contract for the supply of 4.5 thousand tonnes of sugar following the results of trading on the commodity exchange.
Sugar of domestic production will be sold to retail chains of the city at a fixed selling price - no more than KZT380 per kilo. In turn, retailers when selling sugar will ensure compliance with the trade mark-up of no more than 10% of the selling price. This measure will stabilise sugar prices in Almaty until September 2025.

For reference: From November 2023 to August 2024, SEC Almaty JSC sold sugar in the amount of 3 thousand tonnes at a fixed selling price through the city's trading networks, which prevented the growth of prices in Almaty during this period of time.
