Prices for chicken and sugar to be fixed in Almaty

As part of the implementation of price stabilization mechanisms for socially important food products (NWFPs) in Almaty, JSC SEC Almaty concluded a forward loan agreement with JSC Alatau-kus for the supply and sale of chicken meat (drumstick). 358.8 tons of drumsticks will be supplied to 30 branded stores of Alatau-kus, which will be sold to citizens at a price of 1,650 tenge per kilogram. The stabilization period will be 24 months.

As part of the previously concluded loan agreement with Alatau-kus JSC, the sale of hams and thighs continues at a price of 1,100 tenge per kilogram.

SEC Almaty also purchased 4,500 tons of granulated sugar from local producers. Domestic sugar will be sold through Magnum, Small, Toimart, Stolichny, Yubileyny and other retail chains with a trade surcharge of no more than 10%. The selling price will be 405 tenge per kilogram with a trade surcharge of no more than 10%. The stabilization will be in effect until November next year.

At the same time, in March of this year, SEC Almaty and Magnum Cash&Carry signed a loan agreement to stabilize prices for 11 NWFPs with a volume of 606 tons. The list includes: buckwheat groats, horns (by weight), rice groats, sunflower oil, kefir 2.5% fat content in soft packaging, butter 72.5% fat content, pasteurized milk 2.5% fat content in soft packaging, chicken meat (hams, thigh), flour of the first grade, beef meat (shoulder-breast part) and salt. The price stabilization period will last until March 2026.

As part of the stabilization of egg prices, a loan agreement is in effect with the Sary-Bulak Company poultry farm for the production and sale of 86.4 million eggs of the first category from October 2024 to October 2027. The sale of these products is carried out in large retail chains of the city ("Magnum", "Small", "A-store.kz ", "Metro"), through the branded stores "Alatau-Kus", as well as in the stores "at home". The selling price of the manufacturer is 51 tenge per piece, the price on the shelf is with a surcharge of no more than 15%.

In addition, agricultural weekend fairs of SEC Almaty are held in Almaty every Saturday and Sunday in five districts of the city:

  • Almaly district — Masanchi St. (between Ayteke bi St. and Gogol St.);
  • Almaly district – intersection of Zhambyl and Auezov streets.
  • Auezovsky district — Utegen Batyr St. (below Abai Ave.);
  • Bostandyk district — md. Kazakhfilm (above al-Farabi Ave.);
  • Medeu district — Mendikulov Boulevard – Bekturova St.
  • Zhetysu district — MD. Kulager, Serikova St., 2.

As part of price stabilization measures, socially significant products at fairs are sold 15-20% below market value.
