Akim of Almaty Darkhan Satybaldy visited the Industrial Zone of the city, where he got acquainted with the work of enterprises, held a meeting on its further development and outlined key priorities - production efficiency, rational use of land, infrastructure development and investment attraction.
As of today, 118 projects worth 557.6 billion tenge are being implemented in the Industrial Zone of Almaty, more than 15 thousand jobs have been created. Since 2016, 41 facilities worth 142.1 billion tenge have been put into operation. In 2025, it is planned to launch 14 more production facilities with an investment volume of 224.9 billion tenge.
He instructed the Department of Entrepreneurship and the management of the IZA to take measures to increase investments, strengthen control over the effectiveness of projects, as well as activate the work of small industrial parks.
An important topic was the discussion of the second stage of the Industrial Zone. Alisher Satybaldiev, Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Investments, reported on the current readiness and prospects for the development of railway infrastructure. It was noted that applications from nine companies interested in investing are being considered on a competitive basis.
Possible mechanisms for the transition of the railway part of the infrastructure to self-sufficiency and proposals for reducing electricity tariffs for the participants of the IZA were also discussed. The Akim recalled that he had previously introduced initiatives to introduce reduced tariffs for industrial cluster enterprises.
The Akim paid special attention to the land issue. He instructed the regional akimats and relevant departments to step up work on finding additional areas to accommodate industrial facilities and new production facilities.
"Almaty has everything it needs: infrastructure, qualified personnel, access to finance, and a solvent market. We must use this potential to the maximum," Darkhan Satybaldy emphasized.
Separately, the Akim dwelled on the issues of landscaping the territory of the Industrial Zone. He instructed to form park and green areas more actively, with a priority on planting deciduous trees, and recalled the importance of their further maintenance.
"If we create green areas, then their care should be appropriate. This should become the norm for every IZA participant," the Akim of Almaty summed up.
In addition, the Akim named the attraction of new innovative companies and the development of the concept of an international-level technopark based on the Industrial Zone of Almaty as one of the strategic directions.
It was also noted that priority in the selection of new projects in the Industrial Zone will be given to industries with high added value, the use of modern technologies and export potential.
