Almaty is expanding the geography of weekend fairs.

The organizer of weekend fairs in Almaty, JSC SEC Almaty, will hold an agricultural fair in the Alatau district of the city.
On May 17-18, the fair will be held in a pilot format, which will enable local farmers to sell their own products, including socially important food products, and residents to purchase them at an affordable price.
Seven trade pavilions will be installed on the territory of the Madeniyet residential complex, where horse meat, beef, lamb and poultry, dairy products, eggs, vegetables and fruits, as well as fresh pastries will be presented. In case of demand among residents, the fair in Alatau district will be held weekly with an increase in the number of outlets and sellers. Currently, weekend fairs in the metropolis are regularly held in the following areas of the city:

• Almaly district — Masanchi Street (between Ayteke bi Street and Gogol Street);
• Auezovsky district — Utegen Batyr Street (below Abai Avenue);
• Bostandyk district — Kazakhfilm microdistrict (above al-Farabi Avenue);
• Medeu district — Mendikulov Boulevard – Bekturova Street.

The weekly attendance of fairs exceeds 45,000 people. The products are presented by over 300 agricultural producers and farmers from Almaty and the Almaty region.
Fresh meat, eggs, vegetables, fruits, dairy products, sausages, honey and other goods are on sale. There are more than 1,000 items in total.
As part of price stabilization measures, socially significant products are sold 15-20% below market value.
