A subsidiary of JSC SEC Almaty, Almaty Finance LLP, allocated 380 million tenge to Askar Development LLP for the construction of a modern tourist center in the Tuyuk-Su tract.
The project is funded under the regional entrepreneurship development program "Almaty Business-2025" as part of tourism support, as one of the priority areas. The interest rate on the loan will be 6% per annum (AERR), the financing period is 5 years.
The visitor center will be equipped with a guest house, a cafe, a pharmacy, a shop for the purchase and rental of equipment, a souvenir shop and an area for creative events. The center will also provide electric car transfer services to Medeu and back, ATV and bicycle rentals, group tours of the surrounding area, individual guided tours, thematic lectures and workshops.
The main goal of the project is to create conditions for the development of local ecotourism, provide the population with comfortable recreational recreation, and increase the tourist attractiveness of Almaty.
As part of the concessional financing, Askar Development LLP will also assume a number of social obligations. The company will ensure the maintenance of cleanliness on the territory of the complex, implement a waste management system, install interactive information panels with route descriptions, place billboards with contacts of rescue services and tourist support centers, and create an emergency communication zone.
During the construction and arrangement of the center, the borrower uses environmentally friendly materials, organizes a tourist registration system with the function of tracking the directions of their routes, provides a free public toilet and schedules regular lectures and briefings on safe behavior on mountain routes. Additionally, the possibility of accommodating two rooms for rescue service personnel with a capacity of up to 8 people is being considered on the territory of the complex.
"In addition to increasing the tourist attractiveness of Almaty, the project will create 22 new permanent jobs, as well as increase revenues to the local budget. It is expected that the company's annual tax payments will amount to 170 million tenge" said Zhuldyz Igenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Almaty Finance LLP.
