JSC "SEC "Almaty" has updated the infrastructure of weekend fairs in Almaly, Auezov, Bostandyk and Medeu districts of the city.
To increase the comfort of customers and improve the working conditions of local farmers, new retail counters have been installed, sanitary conditions have been improved, and convenient routes for the movement of visitors have been formed. Modernization has also made it possible to transform fairs into modern public spaces where the interests of citizens and entrepreneurs harmoniously combine.
"I live nearby, so I go to the Bostandyk fair every week. I mainly buy meat, vegetables, and "dairy products". All products are fresh. The prices are pleasantly surprising. As for the modernization, after the renovation, it became more pleasant to visit the fair, definitely. There is more visual space, there are no crowds, everything is clean," noticed a customer, local resident Gulmira Ishmukhametova.
Galina Andreeva, a pensioner, notes that the fair is one of those places in the city where you can buy fresh produce at affordable prices:
"For me, as a pensioner, of course, the cost is important. The prices here are lower than the store prices. Everything is fresh and natural. The renovation also pleased me. It has become more comfortable to move around and make purchases," Galina said.
A local manufacturer, Alexander Nigai, in turn, rejoices at the renewal of the trading infrastructure: "I sell vegetables. Therefore, it is important for me to presentably arrange the goods. And the new equipment looks beautiful, the tents look modern. The aesthetic appearance also attracts buyers. It has become easier to sell. And it's nice to work in good conditions myself," the farmer said.
Fairs are held every Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 to 18:00. More than 28 thousand people visit them weekly, and almost 300 sellers sell their products.
