On October 30, the official launch ceremony of the Kazakhstan Mobility Engineering plant took place on the territory of the "Industrial Zone of Almaty". The company is part of the Astana Motors company.
The event was attended by Kanat Sharlapayev, Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Junson Kim, CEO of Motrex, Nurlan Smagulov, founder of Astana Motors, and Beknur Nesipbayev, CEO of the company.
In April last year, Astana Motors signed a memorandum of cooperation with Motrex Co Ltd., a global supplier of equipment and technology solutions for industries such as energy, transport and automotive industries. Then Astana Motors received the right to produce multimedia devices on the territory of the country using the technology of a South Korean partner. The technical opening of the plant took place in September 2024, and the first batch of electronic audio and video equipment has already been transferred to the Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan plant for installation on cars of the Tucson and Elantra models.
The Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Sharlapaev expressed confidence that the launch of the plant is a valuable contribution to strengthening cooperation between the two countries, which will become a turning point in the automotive industry of Kazakhstan.
