On August 20, there was an online briefing on food security in Almaty, where Deputy Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Investments Karlygash Abdizhabbarova and Chairman of the Management Board of SEC Almaty Askar Bilisbekov spoke.
At the briefing, Askar Bilisbekov spoke about how SEC Almaty took part in ensuring the food security of the city and about our results:
“Price fixing under loan agreements with large retail chains significantly influenced the decline in prices in the April-July period: we managed to keep the prices down for 9 items out of 11, and to cut the prices for 6 items, including prices for: chicken, granulated sugar, sunflower oil, milk, cottage cheese, macaroni, rice, and wheat flour of 1st grade.”
SEC Almaty is the operator of the Regional Stabilization Fund and is engaged in restraining prices for socially important food products.
