Employees of Almaty SEC participated in a corporate training on ESG, organized by the Central Asian Institute of Environmental Research @caier_kz. The event was aimed at developing a comprehensive understanding of sustainable development principles, incorporating environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects, among the participants. The focus was on integrating ESG approaches into the company's business processes, developing ESG reporting, improving the corporate ESG rating and identifying strategic steps for further transformation.
The training program covered a wide range of issues, from the theoretical basis and history of the development of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to the analysis of practical cases and best international practices. Employees explored key aspects of ESG, including climate risk management, environmental compliance requirements and regulatory standards for sustainability, as well as breaking down the role of ESG in building corporate reputation and long-term business sustainability.
One of the key elements of the program was a discussion of different types of ESG ratings, their purposes and methodologies. Using international best practices as an example, participants learned about the features of ESG assessments and approaches to their use. Together with representatives of the Central Asian Institute of Environmental Research, an analysis of existing rating systems was carried out, and the possibilities of their application in corporate practice to improve ESG-indicators of the organization were considered.
Almaty SEC, thanks to the high level of organization of the Central Asian Institute of Environmental Research, was able to significantly increase the amount of knowledge and competence of its staff in the field of ESG. The training became an important stage in the formation of the company's sustainable development strategy and its further integration into international ESG standards.
