The lemon garden was laid in the industrial zone of Almaty in a modern greenhouse. In total, more than 1,300 trees were planted on an area of 7,500 square meters. The project is being developed by the Kazakh company BRB APK, which is engaged in the production of greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers.
The lemonarium is an ambitious new project aimed at establishing local production of citrus fruits popular with consumers on an industrial scale. And in the future, it is planned to create a nursery for growing lemon seedlings and a research laboratory on the basis of the garden in order to obtain a local variety of this crop.
This is the first lemonary in Kazakhstan of such an area, where the most modern technologies are used.
Reaching the design capacity and a stable raw material base will open up new opportunities for the development of this business line of BRB APK, which is engaged in the development of the lemonaria project. According to the head of the investor company, Nurlan Adilkhan, they are interested in stable industrial production of lemon in order to launch a processing plant in the future and establish production of a wide range of citrus products.
Since 2016, the Kazakh company BRB APK has been developing a greenhouse complex for the production of tomatoes and cucumbers with TM "Nac-Agro" in the industrial zone of Almaty. The total area of the complex is 17 hectares. In 2023, the harvest of tomatoes and cucumbers grown and harvested in greenhouses amounted to 7,000 tons.
