Employees of the Department of Food Supply and Trade of SEC "Almaty" took part in the meeting with the delegation of the agrifood business of the European Union. The delegation was accompanied by the European Commissioner, Janusz Wojciechowski.
It included representatives of 40 producers and organizations of the European agrifood sector. The delegates presented a wide range of European food and beverages to the Kazakhstani business segment. These include animal products, wines, spirits, fruits, vegetables, seeds, organic products and special products that are protected by geographical indications.
During the session, the SEC, Kazakhstan importers and retailers were able to communicate with European delegates and establish new business contacts. In particular, SEC employees met with Polish, Italian and Romanian manufacturers, providing advice in finding a market for products in Almaty. A number of European companies have also expressed interest in launching their own production facilities in the city. The SEC, for its part, is ready to provide assistance in case of entering of the producers to the local market.
