The new General Plan of the city of Almaty is planned to be developed by the end of the year. The Akim of Almaty, Yerbolat Dossayev told at a meeting with residents of Almaly district thereof.
The resident asked the Akim a question about the renovation program and the adjustment of the general plan.
“When the amendments to the renovation program and the adjustment of the master plan will be considered, since we have been working with activists, architects, urbanists for a year, if not more, on the adjustment of the General Plan and on the renovation program. Proposals have been made, but this program is still hanging, has not been accepted anywhere, has not been considered. This is very important, because now residents are complaining about the renovation. Developers have now begun to actively act, to exert pressure. This crude renovation program needs additions, as it violates the constitutional rights of residents,” he said.
According to the Akim, the general plan is designed for a period up to 2040, its development is planned to be completed by the end of this year.
“By the end of this year, we intend to revise and adopt the general plan of the city of Almaty until 2040. The work, I hope, will be completed within the deadlines I have set. According to the renovation program, no earlier than mid–August or early September, taking into account the calculations, we will propose changes that will be made,” Yerbolat Dossayev said.
