The Almaty Social and Entrepreneurial Corporation (SEC Almaty) has provided 30 entrepreneurs implementing socially significant projects with non-residential premises for rent on preferential terms. The cost of such a lease is 0.1 MCI including VAT, or 440.3 tenge per square meter (in accordance with the MCI for 2025), which is significantly lower than the market value of rent in a megalopolis.
The premises are provided on the basis of an open tender conducted on the website of SEC Almaty as suitable real estate objects appear on the corporation's balance sheet. Any entrepreneur who implements a socially oriented project can take part in the competition. Our priority is to support initiatives in the fields of inclusion, healthcare, education, and the creative industry.
The lease agreement with the winner is concluded for a period of up to three years with the possibility of prolongation without the right of redemption. In addition, SEC Almaty provides for a two-month grace period during which the entrepreneur is not charged rent. The facilities are being transferred in their current condition, while the tenant can carry out repairs.
Currently, supported projects include centers for the adaptation and rehabilitation of people with disabilities, speech therapy, speech pathology, sensory and neuropsychological courses for children with special educational needs, as well as creative workshops and clubs for women, teenagers and pensioners.
Special attention is paid to the issues of job creation in the city. In particular, sewing production has been organized with the employment of women from the category of socially vulnerable segments of the population.
In total, 221 new jobs have been created in Almaty as part of this partnership mechanism between the state and social business.
