The microfinance organization Almaty (MFO Almaty LLP, part of the SEC Almaty Group of companies) continues to issue preferential loans under the regional entrepreneurship development program Almaty Business-2025.
Under the program, micro and small business entities receive loans at rates of 2% and 6% per annum. According to the results of the first quarter of this year, loans in the amount of 572 million tenge were issued to local businesses. Over a third of the loans accounted for projects in the field of production and processing. Initiatives aimed at providing services to the population (21% share), projects in the fields of tourism and education (14% each) were also funded.
The maximum amount of financing per borrower in the MFO "Almaty" is 78,640,000 tenge. The loan term is up to 7 years. The main condition for participation in the program is registration and doing business in the territory of the city of Almaty. Priority consideration is given to projects in the field of production and processing, socially oriented entrepreneurship (including in the fields of education, sports and healthcare), as well as initiatives aimed at import substitution, export orientation, creative industries, etc.
Since the launch of the Almaty Business-2025 program in 2019, the Almaty MFO has financed more than 600 projects worth about 14 billion tenge.
"Over 2.5 thousand new jobs have been created in the city as part of preferential loans to the Almaty MFO. In addition to stimulating entrepreneurial activity and employment growth, the Almaty Business-2025 program helps to increase tax revenues to the city budget. Thus, borrowers have paid more than 2 billion tenge in taxes since 2019," said Altai Ismagambetov, Chairman of the Board of the MFO Almaty.
