Almaty has adopted a new renovation program, 24kz reports.
As part of the program aimed at updating the housing stock in the metropolis, 676 old houses will be demolished by 2030, and residents will be moved to new apartments. The main feature of the new program is the introduction of mechanisms for protecting the rights of housing owners. That is, when the old house is demolished, the owner is given the opportunity to change his apartment to a new one or receive monetary compensation based on the price on the market. At the same time, the House will be demolished only if the entire owner agrees. The program provides for the transfer of apartments to residents with disabilities from the first floor or relocation to a house with an elevator. Now there are 1366 old houses in Almaty. More than 43 thousand people live in them. Zhasulan Shaikenov, director of the Department of renovation of the capital construction enterprise of the akimat of Almaty: - the new program expands our powers. This includes not only dilapidated housing, but also private housing. Therefore, 1366 houses belong to the same program. It completely covers all 8 districts of the city. Most of the old houses are located mainly in the Turksib district.
