The event was attended by the Ethics Commissioner of the Almaty Akimat, Mamai Kanievich Akhmetov, and the Head of the Information and Educational Headquarters of the Almaty Anti-Corruption Service, Sayat Sergeevich Balgimbayev. During the meeting, the participants discussed issues of compliance with the requirements of anti-corruption legislation and the code of ethics, in particular the norms and principles of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Combating Corruption", the Ethical Code of Civil Servants of the Republic of Kazakhstan, preventing the commission of misconduct and other offenses for which the law provides for disciplinary, administrative or criminal liability. The meeting participants were also shown social anti-corruption videos. It should be noted that the SPK Almaty has an anti-corruption policy. The policy reflects the commitment of SPK Almaty and its employees to high ethical standards of conducting open and honest business, improving corporate culture, following the best practices of corporate governance and maintaining the business reputation of SPK Almaty at the proper level. SPK Almaty carries out activities to combat corruption based on the principles of an irreconcilable attitude and rejection of corruption in any format and manifestations, personal example of management in forming a culture of intolerance to corruption, involvement of employees in anti-corruption activities, proportionality of anti-corruption procedures to the risk of corruption, openness of business, recognition, ensuring and protection of fundamental human and civil rights and freedoms, legality, inevitability of prosecution for committing corruption offenses, priority application of measures to prevent corruption. On June 14, 2024, a meeting was held at the Almaty City Entrepreneurship and Investment Department on issues of compliance with ethics by civil servants. At the meeting, the Ethics Commissioner of the Almaty City Akimat, Mamai Kanievich Akhetov, spoke on issues of explaining the norms of the Ethical Code of Civil Servants of the Republic of Kazakhstan and preventing corruption risks, and also provided clarifications on issues of eliminating corruption risks. At the meeting, it was noted that control has been strengthened to prevent violations of the Ethical Code of Civil Servants of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and it was indicated that each civil servant must strengthen the requirements for moral character and business qualities. In addition, it was explained that the subjects of corruption include officials responsible for the implementation of projects financed from the state budget, holding positions not lower than the head of a structural unit, authorized to make decisions on the organization and conduct of public procurement, and in accordance with the Law will fully assume the anti-corruption restrictions provided for by the legislation "On Combating Corruption", and will also bear more significant responsibility in the event of corruption offenses. At the end of the meeting, issues of improving the image of the civil service and public confidence in civil servants were discussed.
