80 farmers, 65 meat suppliers and 42 dairy producers are represented at the weekend fairs in Almaty

More than 300 agricultural producers from Almaty and the suburbs of the Almaty region present their products at weekend fairs in the metropolis. 80 participants offer fresh vegetables and fruits — potatoes, cabbage, onions, carrots, tomatoes, apples and pears. All products arrive on the shelves directly from fields and gardens, without intermediaries.

Meat products — mutton, beef and horse meat — are supplied by 65 farmers from Karasai, Ili, Talgar and Zhambyl districts.

54 producers sell chicken meat and eggs from local poultry farms and private farms.

42 suppliers provide counters with dairy products — milk, sour cream, kefir, yogurt and cheese.

16 family apiaries from the region represent honey, wax, propolis and other bee products.

In addition, 16 small businesses offer sausage products, 10 — dried fruits, and 17 — homemade pastries and sweets.

In total, over 1,000 product names are presented at the fairs.

Weekend fairs are a platform for direct trade between producers and buyers. The organizer is JSC SEC Almaty.

As part of the price stabilization program, socially important goods are sold at fairs for 15-20% less than their market value.

The upcoming fairs will be held on May 10 and 11 (Saturday and Sunday) from 09:00 to 18:00 in four districts of the city:

  • Almaly district — Masanchi St. (between Ayteke bi St. and Gogol St.);
  • Auezovsky district — Utegen Batyr St. (below Abai Ave.);
  • Bostandyk district — Kazakhfilm (above Al-Farabi Ave.);
  • Medeu district — Mendikulov Boulevard – Bekturova St.

More than 45,000 residents and guests of Almaty visit the fairs every week.
